1. School/College Transport information for parents of those 16+ with and EHC Plan at school/college AND those pupils with an EHC plan starting school this September.
New online process for 16+ pupils/students with an EHC plan continuing or starting school or college in September The Home School Transport Team at HCC (Herts County Council) has a new process this year and has sent emails to parents who are receiving school or college transport for children aged 16 plus with a link to their new online application form. There are still hundreds of families who have not yet applied for transport. If you have not received your email then please check your email inbox (including your junk/spam folder) and if it is still not there then you need to email them at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the link or form. Due to Covid 19 they weren’t able to warn families in advance about the change. Their post is still being received but delayed in being dealt with whilst staff work from home.
Transport for pupils with an EHC Plan starting in September – email the SEN transport team at email@example.com by the end of May.Further information about Home to School Transport eligibility here: Local Offer School Transport
Remember: there is an option for a personal budget for home school transport but that is a CHOICE. This handbook, written by Steve Broach and Luke Clements is available to download in pdf form, chapter by chapter, from the CDC (Council for Disabled Children) website. Disabled Children a legal handbook where you can also find links to where to buy it from the kindle store or a hard copy.
