Information, support and advice for children and young people with SEND.
A very important emphasis in the SEND reforms of 2014 in the Children and Families Act was around ensuring that children and young people with a disability or special educational needs have access to advice and support across education, health and social care and that their voices can be heard. In this section HPCI has put together where some of that can be found nationally and locally.
Here is a document with useful links and organisations that help the voice of young people to be heard.
Introduction to the Care Act 2014 – this factsheet is from Contact a Family. This one gives an overview of the rights of families with a young person who may need support to prepare for the transition to adult services, young carers who are approaching 18 and disabled young adults (18 and above).
